civil air patrol is the best thing you can get in to join the academy. i know because i member myself. i have been ou ALL flying once and they will teach all basics to flight, drill movement,how to respect officers. they will show how to locate someone on a search team to find people. in my opinion it will be the best thing for you just to let you i am only senior airmen. this website will answer all your questions that you have
