Why are the grenade launchers in Bf Bad company so ineffective?

I've tried that challenge before and it is hard. Some people are really good at it and some people are not. I think it depends on what grenade launcher you use. Try the one attached to the AK47 and not the one attached to the M16. The one on the AK seemed better to me.
