Why did my ex bf start talking 2 me if he said he woul never talk 2 me again??

about 5 months ago when i broke up with my ex bf he said he would never talk 2 me again......but yesterday he started talking 2 me on the computer and asked if i wanted 2 hang out with him sometime like we used 2.........why would he start talking 2 me if he said he would never talk 2 me again??
